True Confessions of a 25-Year Flight Attendant

Flying from Cancun to Charlotte on a vastly undersold flight recently, the airline was offering upgrades to first class for a hundred bucks. I sprung for it; sure, why not?

Once comfortably ensconced in my seat with a colleague sitting beside me, we started gabbing with the flight attendant, named Jon.  Once I realized he would hold nothing back, I whipped out my Flip Cam and hit Record.  He spoke of many things, from how the airline schedules his workweek to how often he gets to work in first class, along with his least favorite airport to fly out of — which shall remain nameless. But once I asked him about the most unusual events in his 25 years of service in the skies, that’s when he really opened up.
