Top 10 Places I Have Visited

Travel is the best form of education.  It opens your eyes, teaches you about others, allows you to grow and inspires for the future.

With that, here are the Top 10 Places I have Visited:

  • Florence, Italy – Spent 8 months living here when I was 21 and no experience has come close yet.  It helps that I met my wife here.
  • Elbow Beach, Bermuda – you will never see sand like this anywhere else in the world.  It is literally pink and the ocean sings to you.
  • 17-Mile Drive, California – Coastal drives are defined by this stretch.  You have to drive slowly because 1) you’ll miss the view or 2) you’ll miss a turn while taking in the view.  If you can, have lunch at Pebble Beach overlooking the 18th hole.
  • Panarea, Italy – Wake up in the morning looking at Stromboli, fresh morning cappuccino at Hotel Raya, no cars and yet to be fully discovered.
  • Essaouira, Morocco – a 2-hour drive from Marrakesh on the Atlantic coast, the beaches are amazing, the food is fresh and if you really want to do it right, wake up at Villa Maroc and have breakfast on the roof.
  • Luang Prabang, Laos – We arrived after a 6-hour speedboat ride along the Mekong River (described very well here).  It was worth it.  Years ago it was still undiscovered and in 2008 it was rated the number one destination in the world by The New York Times.
  • Paris, France – Paris is Paris for a reason.  Hotels, Restaurants, Shopping, Art, Music, Romance, etc… you can never get tired of it.
  • Folegandros, Greece – Ssshhhh!  Don’t tell anybody.  Santorini before the tourists.  Simply spectacular.
  • Hoi An, Vietnam – imagine a seaside town influenced by the Chinese, French, Japanese, Dutch and Spanish.  A UNESCO heritage site, try and experience the Legendary Night Festival when the town is lit naturally.
  • Rougemont, Switzerland - a true Swiss mountain village, very easy on the eyes, great skiing and close enough to the bustle of Gstaad.

I also want to mention these fabulous cities: Miami, Chicago, Key West, Chang Mai, Prague and Kastellorizo.
