Be The First (Dog) On Your Block!
Here are even more unusual hotel amenities, and this time we’ve gone to the dogs.
- The Paw House Inn, with two locations in Mount Snow and Killington, Vermont, caters entirely to dogs and their owners. At each location there’s an onsite doggie spa, dog care facility, custom-built dog beds in every room, and indoor and outdoor dog parks with agility courses and professional trainers. Not enough? How about a doggie kitchenette where guests can prepare their dogs’ food?
- At Hotel ZaZa, a luxury hotel located in both Dallas and Houston, guests can spring for the “Pampered Pet” gourmet menu, specially designed for four-legged guests.
- If you — or your dog — suffer from separation anxiety, doggie indoor dining is an option at several California properties. At the Stanford Inn by the Sea in Mendocino, pet owners can dine with their dogs in their lobby, while the Inn at Schoolhouse Creek in Little River invites pet owners to bring their pooches to their afternoon wine and cheese “Yappy Hour,” as does the Cypress Inn in Carmel.

- Several hotels in the Loews chain offer Learning Vacations for Pets. Primarily aimed towards dogs, they can learn how to surf, sing, or enjoy the great outdoors on a nature hike too. Head for Nashville for The Hound of Music at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel Nashville, to Colorado for the Outward Hound program at Loews Denver Hotel, or California for the Suruff Camp at Loews Coronado Bay Resort.
