Regulating the Conversation

Going through our Target Vacations Flickr Group, I noticed that this picture from Iran was added to our group.

As we all know, the situation in Iran right now is difficult and the people want their voices heard.

Back home, our Flickr group was intended to inspire and share travel experiences and destinations. We want people to tell their travel stories through images.

The person who uploaded this photo also uploaded a tremendous image in Colombia which I featured in a previous post.

As the group administrator, do I allow this photo into the group? Social media is about being open and honest and although this photo is not ‘vulgar’, I wouldn’t say it inspires travel to Iran.

Should the photo be removed from this group? We would love to know what you think.

Hmmm, I can see your/the dilemma…although if travel is full of experiences, that image certainly represents an experience. Does it inspire one to travel to Iran? Perhaps not. But maybe it ‘inspire’ in other ways…
