Blu Skies
Tis the season, it seems, to call your new seaside venture Blu.
At a recent stay at the CuisinArt in Anguilla, I discovered the gift shop was called Boutique Blu, but it was only the latest in a recent stretch of Blus I’ve witnessed…
In Grand Cayman, celebrity chef Eric Ripert’s new restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton was christened Blu, while in Folly Beach, South Carolina, an oceanfront Holiday Inn named its revamped restaurant Blu.
And Blu is part of the Radisson chain throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
[The fact that my spellcheck does not pick Blu up as a typo is significant.]
A quick Google search revealed Blu restaurants in Boston, Hastings-on Hudson NY, Singapore, Melbourne, Miami, and Norman, Oklahoma, among hundreds of others.
